Great Kitchen Counters For Thousands Less

For years now Granite counter top’s have been the go-to for high end kitchens and why not?  They are unique, beautiful and when done right, can make a kitchen go from unimpressive to stunning.

For a seller, the right counter top can make your home go from just another home on the market, to the only house on the market worth making an offer on.  Isn’t that what every seller wants and every buyer has to have?

The questions you might be asking your self might be something like:

  • Is Granite the right counter top for my kitchen?
  • Do I have to spend $5,000 or more to make my kitchen look nice?
  • What are my options?

Finding the right balance between style, beauty, functionality and price is what every home owner needs to weigh.  So lets talk first about what you options are.

Tile

That’s right, I said tile.  You might be asking yourself if this article was written in 1985, and the answer is no.  This is one of your cheaper options but when done with skill it can look fashionable and make your kitchen pop.

Stainless Steel

Over the past few years stainless steel has been the king of appliances.  In general I would say that you should be careful with this one, but if you have a spacious kitchen and love to cook, there might not be anything better!  A nice stainless steel counter can be a great option for the cost conscious consumer.

Wood

It’s not just for cabins in the woods! There are many great wood finishes that can make your kitchen look grand.  From dark to light, Mahogany to Bamboo there are some great ways to design your kitchen with wood.  You don’t have to make your entire counter wood either, you can combine wood with stone or any other finish that will excite even the most novice cook.

Ceramic

It’s one of the most indestructible countertops out there.  “closest thing you can get to indestructible.” says some representatives.  It is responsive, scratch-resistant easy to clean and inexpensive in comparison to some options.  It’s also unique and might be just the thing for your home.  The best part is the cost of a ceramic counter is much nicer than you think it might be.

Nanotech Materials

Decor obtained through next generation resins.  Doesn’t that sound cool?  Fenix NTM countertop is anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint, self-healing, and soft to the touch but strong and effective.  Developed thanks to Arpa Industriale’s research this is as hightech counter for any food lover and their modern kitchen.  The price might be high but for someone who likes to cook, this might be a cornerstone to the best kitchen they have ever had.

Tempered Glass

This is one of the most cost effective ways to make your kitchen look fantastic.  It comes in many colors, it’s tough and feels great.  If your looking to make a great impression on a home buyer and you don’t have the money for Granite than tempered glass might be the way to go.

Quartz

A close second to Granite, Quartz is more functional in many ways, it has a higher heat tolerance isn’t as porous as Granite.  It comes in many colors and designs and looks great too.  If you are stuck on stone and don’t have the budget for Granite than Quartz might be the way to go.

So here are some of your options.  As you can see there is a counter top for every budget and with a little imagination and elbow grease you can have the best kitchen on the block.  So if you are a seller trying to get the most out of the sale of your home or a buyer that is just moving into your new home, a nice countertop is a great way to make your home unique.
